Sean Fan brings over 20 years of high-tech experience to his current role as vice president and general manager of the Computing and Communications Division, driving multiple IDT businesses including high-performance computing, datacenter, server, wireless and networking infrastructures. Since joining IDT in 1999, Fan has held various management roles, including vice president and general manager of the Interface and Connectivity Division, vice president and general manager of IDT China, vice president and general manager of the Memory Interface Division and general manager of Standard Product Operations. He has engineered the turnaround and transformation of several business units, is involved in corporate M&A and strategic planning, and was instrumental in successfully creating and driving the telecom, silicon timing, smart metering and memory interface businesses.
Before joining IDT, Fan worked at Lucent Microelectronics, Mitel Semiconductor and National Lab of Telecom Research in China in various engineering and management roles. From 2009 to 2012, he served on the board of directors at JEDEC, a leading standardization organization in the microelectronics industry, and was a board member for privately held Accent International.
Fan earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Telecom from Beijing University of Posts and Telecom. He continued his Executive Management education at Stanford University and the Wharton School of Business.
