Tom Sparkman

Senior Vice President, WW Sales / Vice President & General Manager, Communications Division

Tom Sparkman joined IDT in November 2011, as general manager and Vice President for the Communications division.  He also serves as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for IDT.  In these dual roles, Tom will be instrumental in helping develop IDT’s growth strategies in analog-intensive mixed-signal system solutions for communications, computing and consumer applications.

Prior to joining IDT, Sparkman was CEO of Samplify Systems, a leader in data compression technologies, in which IDT was a strategic investor. In addition to bringing Sparkman to the company, IDT has acquired Samplify’s compression patents for wireless infrastructure.  Sparkman joined Samplify with 23 years of semiconductor experience, mostly at Maxim Integrated Products, Inc., an international supplier of analog and mixed-signal products. While at Maxim, Sparkman built both domestic and international sales organizations and played an instrumental role in scaling the company from $50M to $2.5B in sales. 

Sparkman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
