Bay Microsystems Selects IDT’s Network Search Engines to Give Montego and Biscayne Processor Customers Easily Implemented and Complete Search Solutions

Network Systems Design Conference, San JOSE, Calif., October 18, 2005 — Bolstering its position as a leading provider of network search engines (NSEs), IDT™ (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; NASDAQ:  IDTI), today announced Bay Microsystems, a market leader in high-end packet processing, has selected the company as its preferred NSE partner.  By collaborating with IDT, Bay Microsystems provides its Montego® and Biscayne™ processor customers with complete search solutions that are easily implemented and include products with seamless interfaces, hardware and software development kits and reference designs to help speed the design cycle.  The combined development environment includes 10GbE/10x1GbE/OC192 full-duplex application-ready systems for software development, simulation, hardware emulation and network implementation targeted at mission critical secure broadband networks.

 

IDT’s search solutions include a family of NSEs that accelerate searches of routing and classification tables for the Bay Microsystems Internetworking Processor Family to enable deterministic 10Gbps packet processing performance with advanced services, including IPv6 Access Control Lists.  Combining IDT and Bay solutions allow customers to gain a simplified design process with faster time-to-market for their carrier equipment, enterprise and storage networking, and utility computing products.

The IDT family of NSEs with the high-performance interface offers density options ranging from 2-18 Mbits and incorporates an easy-to-use 72-bit LVTTL interface.  The devices also feature dynamic database management to reduce power consumption by up to 70 percent, support for both IPv4 and IPv6 forwarding and policy lookups, and a dual simultaneous multi-database lookup (SMDL) feature to simultaneously search in separate independent databases.
