IDT Captures Both Ultimate Product and Innovator of the Year Honors at Prestigious UBM ACE Awards
IDT’s Michael S. McCorquodale, Ph.D. Wins “Innovator of the Year” and IDT’s 3LG CrystalFree Solid-State Oscillators Win “Ultimate Products” Award from UBM Electronics Presented by EE Times and EDN
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 28, 2012 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that it has received two prestigious UBM ACE Awards presented by EE Times and EDN. IDT’s Michael S. McCorquodale, Ph.D. won the Innovator of the Year award and IDT’s 3LG CrystalFree™ solid-state oscillators won the Ultimate Products award in the Analog IC category.
Michael S. McCorquodale, Ph.D., is the general manager of the Silicon Frequency Control group at IDT and a senior member of the IEEE. In February, McCorquodale was selected from a competitive pool of industry experts to become a finalist for his pioneering work to successfully realize the simple and highly desired concept of replacing mechanical quartz crystal oscillators with all-silicon (CMOS) oscillators. Last night, he bested the remaining finalists to claim the Innovator of the Year title.
In addition, IDT received an Ultimate Products award for the 3LG family of ±50 ppm CrystalFree solid-state oscillators in the Analog IC category. Growing from McCorquodale’s innovative work on CMOS oscillators, the IDT 3LG crystal-oscillator (XO) replacement products are transforming the frequency control market, offering power savings up to 75 percent to be used in a broad range of applications requiring a ±50 ppm timing reference, including computing, communications and consumer markets. This is the second distinguished award that IDT’s 3LG family of solid-state oscillators has received, following the 2011 Product of the Year Award from Electronic Products magazine.
