IDT VersaClock® Timing Solution Selected by Tokyo Electron Device (TED) for Programmable Extension Microcontroller Card using Xilinx Zynq™ All Programmable SoC

IDT’s Programmable VersaClock® Provides All Required Clock Signals for Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC in TED’s ‘inrevium’ Evaluation Platform, Including User-configurable Output

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 22, 2013 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that its timing solution has been selected by Tokyo Electron Device Limited (TED) for their ‘inrevium’ programmable SoC extension microcontroller card using the Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC (system-on-chip) . IDT’s VersaClock programmable clock generator provides all the clock signals on the Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC-based ‘inrevium’ card, and adds a user-programmable clock output for additional functionality.

“We are pleased that IDT’s leading VersaClock family has been selected by TED for their programmable extension microcontroller cards,” said Christian Kermarrec, vice president and general manager of the Timing and Synchronization Division at IDT. “As a premier member of the Xilinx alliance program, TED’s products are used to build powerful evaluation platforms for next-generation products. IDT’s programmable clock generators increase the flexibility of the Xilinx-based platform, helping customers expedite the development process and improve their time-to-market. As a critical component of the reference design, IDT’s superior performance can continue to be leveraged in the customer’s production product design.”

Released under TED’s ‘inrevium’ brand, the TB-7Z-020-EMC is an evaluation platform fitted with both an ARM® Cortex™-A9 MP Core with on-chip connection to an FPGA fabric and a Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC that incorporates a range of peripheral functions, including a programmable clock output provided by IDT’s VersaClock solution.  The platform can be used to implement evaluation systems into various development projects and facilitate task separation between hardware and software engineers to significantly reduce development time and costs.  In addition, the new TB-7Z-020-EMC enables software engineers to connect the main FPGA during the development process for repeated performance testing using the real hardware. This provides a system-level evaluation environment that can be used with greater efficiency than was possible in the past.

IDT VersaClock products are low-jitter programmable clock generators that allow designers to save board space and cost by replacing several crystals, oscillators, and buffers with a single timing device. IDT’s VersaClock portfolio offers parts in various compact packages with up to four internal PLLs, each individually programmable, allowing for up to seven unique frequencies. VersaClock devices are highly configurable and can be programmed using an I2C interface during normal operation, making it easy for engineers to operate the device in TED’s Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC-based platform. Internal EEPROM makes it simple to reprogram frequencies for changing system requirements, and allows the user to save and restore the configuration without having to reprogram it on power-up.
