NEC Chooses IDT Network Search Engine to Enable Advanced Features in VPN Gateway
San Jose, Calif., February 7, 2006 — IDT™ (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; NASDAQ: IDTI) a leading provider of network search engines (NSEs), today announced that NEC Corporation has selected its 75K62134 NSE to enable advanced features and accelerate packet processing in its VPN Gateway. The IDT 75K62134 NSE is the industry’s first device with a glue-less integrated Network Processor Forum (NPF) Look-Aside (LA-1) interface to industry-leading network processor units (NPUs). Delivering search speeds up to 100 million searches per second, the IDT 75K62134 offloads the compute-intensive classification task from the NPU, enabling the NEC VPN Gateway to perform a breadth of value-added services, including security, quality of service and access management control lists. Combining strong application knowledge and technical support, IDT worked closely with NEC to optimize software development efforts that lowered overall system costs and improved time to market. The NEC VPN Gateway supports rates up to 1G and provides Internet protocol security.
