Conflict Free Metals Policy
Introduction
IDT supports the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct and our customers regarding
the sourcing of materials from socially and environmentally responsible suppliers. This document describes IDT’s conflict free metals policy for materials required for IDT
Scope
The IDT Conflict Free Metals Policy applies broadly to IDT products and IDT suppliers that directly support IDT product manufacturing. The known sources of material of concern include but may not be limited to tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, tin, and gold.
Policy
IDT understands the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a country rich in natural resources where mining activities in certain regions/mines within the country which are controlled by non-government military groups have been identified by the EICC as potentially contributing to human rights abuses and environmental damage within the country. Although IDT cannot fully verify the source of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold used in the supply chain, we are committed to purchasing materials from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers.
IDT expects our suppliers to meet regulatory obligations in accordance with the local regulatory requirements and purchase materials from Conflict Free sources.
In support of this policy, IDT will:
- Work with our supply chain partners to trace the sources of tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, tin, and gold as applicable to our products to minimize potential for metals from conflict free mines.
- Support industry trade groups, suppliers, and customers in establishment of a verifiable supply chain that draws materials from conflict free mines.
