PCI Express® Non-Volatile DRAM Controllers
IDT’s NV-DRAM Controllers provide a standards-based, high-density, high performance PCIe-attached NV-DRAM solution. At the same time, they eliminate the traditional SAS and SATA storage infrastructure and thereby reduce latency and power. These controllers expand upon IDT’s NVMe Flash Controller family to dramatically boost the number of random I/O operations per second (IOPS) that a system can process.
Built around a combination of DRAM and NAND flash devices, the controller reads and writes data directly into DDR3 DRAM. When power-down is detected, the DRAM contents are backed-up into flash. The controller is designed to fully comply with the NVMe standard that defines an optimized register interface, command set, and feature set for PCIe-based Solid-State Drives. PCIe NV-DRAM controllers enable unparalleled read and write random performance with dramatically lower latency and high endurance for enterprise-class applications.
