Low-Power DDR3 Memory Buffer for LRDIMM Modules
Conventionally based DDR3 systems have DIMMs directly attached to the memory host controller. As more DIMMs and ranks are installed in the memory channel, the maximum operating frequency decreases dramatically due to the parallel loading of each additional DIMM and Rank. The MB3516L helps solve this limitation to enable speeds up to and including DDR3-1600 with no penalty for speed degradation based on the density of the DIMM.
