What is the IDT Green strategy? 
We believe it is globally essential for the semiconductor industry to provide environmentally safe components for electronics systems. Our strategy is to develop programs that ensure the production of environmentally friendly products. IDT has developed and qualified Green parts throughout our product portfolio. We will continue to support customers who require non-Green products and will work closely with our customers to ensure a seamless conversion to Green products during the next several years.  

  • All Lead Free Orders will be filled with Green products 
  • Volume production quantities of Green products are available and can be ordered by their respective Green Part number

Yes, for all products.

Do your Green products have different part numbers? 
Yes, IDT Green products have a “G,” “LF” or “V” suffix after the package code on the standard part number. For example, the standard part number would be 71V016SA10PH, and the Green part number would be 71V016SA10PHG.

What is the IDT Green termination composition? 
     Leaded packages:  matte Tin (Sn)
     Ball Grid Array:  Tin Silver Copper (SnAgCu)

What tests are included in Green product qualifications? 
  • Moisture sensitivity level with 260°C reflow profile 
  • Solderability test per J-STD-002B 
  • Following reliability tests:
    • Preconditioning (260°C) + Autoclave (168hr) 
    • Preconditioning (260°C) + HAST (100hr) 
    • Preconditioning (260°C) + Temperature Cycle (-65°C to 150°C, 500 cycles for leadframe packages, -55°C to 125°C, 1000 cycles for BGA packages) 
    • High Temperature Storage (150°C for 1000hr)

What tests are performed for whisker growth? 
IDT qualifies pure tin per below tests: 
  • Ambient Storage, 2000 hours 
  • Temperature Humidity (60°C 90%), 2000 hours 
  • Temperature Cycle (-55°C to 85°C), 500 cycles 
Testing for Tin Whiskers is conducted during package qualification at all IDT subcontract assembly facilities per JESD22A121 and JESD201 JEDEC Standard requirements.

Does the IDT pure tin process have whisker mitigation control? 
Yes, all of our tin plated parts are annealed at 150°C for 1 hour.

How will IDT Green products be packed and labeled? 
IDT Green products will follow JEDEC standard JES D97 and the MSL (moisture sensitivity level) label will contain the JEDEC approved Lead-free symbol. The individual parts will not have the Lead-free marking identifier, but will have the “G” or “LF” suffix after the package code in the part number. 
 
IDT products shipped into China are label per EIP requirements.

How do I find material content information on IDT products? 
Material Composition Declaration on all IDT products are provided in IPC1752 format and it can be located on IDT.com by part number. The information provided includes: part weight, restricted substance content, recommended reflow profile, terminal finish, MSL, etc. IDT is actively updating this database and a majority of part numbers have product material information available.

How do I check the Green / RoHS / Pb (Lead) Free status of an active IDT part? 
If you have the IDT part number, enter that part number in the SEARCH field at the top of any IDT web page. The documents associated with that part number will be included on the product/part web page.
