Qi-compliant Wireless Power Transmitter ICs

IDT was the first in the industry to introduce a Qi-compliant wireless power transmitter IC as a highly-integrated, single-chip solution which enabled system designers to minimize system complexity, ease PCB routing constraints, and simplify the bill of materials. IDT’s more recent wireless power transmitter ICs integrate an ARM® processor which offers the flexibility to support the WPC reference coil types with single and multiple coils. Our devices can operate with various travel adapter types and support different proprietary charging modes. IDT publishes well-proven, complete reference designs of the transmitters with schematics, compact layout, Gerber files, detailed bill of materials and evaluation guides. System designers can integrate our reference designs into their systems to simplify their design process and reduce time to market.

About Wireless Power Transmitters
Wireless power transmitter ICs are intelligent devices used to take a DC input power supply and convert and condition that supply into an AC signal used to drive an inductive coil for the purpose of transmitting power wirelessly. The devices are generally designed to support a single-coil and multi-coil configurations, and may be optimized for different DC input voltages depending on their application. Some wireless power transmitter ICs include an integrated half-bridge inverter while others will drive an external inverter. A good wireless power transmitter IC will include all the necessary communications, control, and safety functions necessary to comply with a given wireless power standard, such as Qi or PMA.
