Company Helps Ease Transition for DisplayPort Standard
September 15, 2008

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 15, 2008 — IDT® (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, has expanded its DisplayPort™-compatible solutions. The company today announced the availability of its IDT PanelPort™ stand-alone receiver for LCD TVs, projectors and high-end monitors.
The newly available IDT PanelPort VPP1101 receiver is fully compliant with the DisplayPort 1.1a standard and allows IDT customers to connect their multimedia devices to any type and size of monitor with an external DisplayPort connection, providing them with greater display options. This flexibility will help ease the adoption of DisplayPort technology for flat panel televisions and related applications. The new IDT PanelPort receiver solution is slated to be integrated into flat panel products currently in development.
“IDT continues to invest in DisplayPort offerings as this standard offers higher resolution, higher bit per pixel/color (deeper color), and lower power than existing interface standards such as TTL and LVDS,” said Ji Park, vice president and general manager of the Video Display Operation at IDT.  “With the availability of the PanelPort VPP1101, we are extending the reach of our PanelPort technology to a broader range of products including multifunction high-end monitors, digital TVs and digital projectors.”
The IDT PanelPort VPP1101 device offers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) an increased level of digital signal integrity by significantly reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) on all monitor or display device interfaces by utilizing IDT spread spectrum clocking technology. The IDT PanelPort receiver is able to achieve this level of digital signal integrity through its unique incorporation of in-house customizable serializer/deserializer (SerDes) and industry-leading IDT serial interface technologies. Following the IDT corporate initiative to improve customer power efficiency whenever possible, the IDT customized PanelPort receiver is architected to improve performance by extending battery life and reducing power consumption through optimal thermal management, thus enabling further differentiation and improved power and cost savings for the flat panel display market.
The VPP1101 joins the video electronics standard association (VESA) certified IDT PanelPort receiver with integrated timing controller (TCON) in the IDT family of DisplayPort-compatible products. The VPP1600EMG device is targeted for inclusion in flat panel displays for monitors, notebooks, and LCD TV displays. (See March 2008 announcement at

About the DisplayPort Standard
The DisplayPort interface standard, as approved by the video electronics standard association (VESA), is designed to be available throughout the industry as an open, extensible standard. DisplayPort was developed to reduce platform costs and drive a common digital interface across PC platforms and components. DisplayPort allows high-definition digital audio to be available to the display device over the same cable as the digital video signal and delivers true plug-and-play with robust interoperability. It is cost-competitive with existing digital display interconnects. For additional information on DisplayPort or on VESA visit
