IDT PEB383 Bridge for Consumer Applications in Full Production
August 19, 2010
SAN JOSE, Calif., August 19, 2010 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®; NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced that its PCI Express® (PCIe®)-to-PCI bridge has been selected by MiTAC International Corporation for use in its next-generation desktop motherboard. The IDT PEB383 is now in full production and has successfully completed the rigorous testing procedures of the Compliance Workshop and is included on the integrators list of the PCI Special Interest Group.
The IDT PEB383 bridge has been designed to help IDT customers simplify board layout and manufacturability. The IDT PCIe-to-PCI bridge is tailored to match design characteristics of leading consumer processors, such as Intel and AMD, helping ensure ease of integration. In addition, the PCIe-to-PCI bridge features the lowest latency and highest bandwidth compared to alternative solutions, resulting in the highest-quality overall system solution. The IDT PEB383 also features advanced buffering and queuing techniques, including short-term caching (STC), which provides more than a 500-percent improvement with non-posted transactions, helping improve overall system performance.
“Several OEMs and system designers, such as MiTAC International Corporation, have begun adopting the PEB383 in their next-generation designs,” said Mario Montana, vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Computing Division at IDT. “Specifically, MiTAC International Corporation chose to include the IDT PEB383 bridge in its next-generation desktop motherboard to accelerate the design development due to the exceptional design quality of the PEB383. The extensive interoperability testing and product delivery provided by IDT was a critical factor for MiTAC International Corporation in selecting the IDT PEB383.”
The IDT PEB383 bridge features a PCIe port that provides 2.5Gbps throughput in a single lane configuration. This PCI port is a 32-bit-wide interface supporting frequencies up to 66MHz, allowing legacy devices to interface with the PCIe hierarchy. The PCI interface also offers a comprehensive feature set and 5V I/O tolerance to ensure interoperability with the earliest of PCI I/O devices, providing IDT customers with increased design flexibility.
Pricing and Availability
The PEB383 bridge is priced at $4.95 for 10,000 units and is available in a 14x14 millimeter 128-pin Quad Flat Pack (QFP) and a small 10x10mm 132-pin Quad Flat No-Lead (QFN) package. For additional information, visit www.IDT.com/go/PCIeBridges.
