Industry Leader in Serial Switching to Examine Benefits of Serial RapidIO® vs. 10 Gigabit Ethernet

November 3, 2010
SAN JOSE, Calif., November 3, 2010 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®; NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that it will be presenting on the benefits of using Serial RapidIO in AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA systems at the 6th annual AdvancedTCA Summit at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA from November 9-November 11, 2010.
Devashish Paul, senior product manager for Serial RapidIO switching at IDT, will present “RapidIO Gen2 vs 10 GigE in xTCA Systems.” In the presentation, he will discuss the advantages of using Serial RapidIO in xTCA systems by examining system performance, latency, bandwidth, messaging, power savings and economics in various applications with Gen2 switches that provide per-port bandwidth of 20 Gbps. Mr. Paul will also show how the addition of the IDT SPS-1616 Serial RapidIO Gen2 switch with security functionality can be used to extend the scalability of xTCA systems in “outside plant” deployment.
“IDT is the industry leader in serial switching, and we look forward to sharing our expertise with the designers and engineers at the AdvancedTCA Summit,” said Fred Zust, vice president and general manager of the Communications division at IDT. “IDT is continually adding more functionality to our Serial RapidIO switching portfolio in response to market needs, and this is the ideal opportunity to share our latest industry-leading advances, such as the virtual channel and security functionality of our new Serial RapidIO Gen2 switches.”
