IDT Introduces Ultra Low Power Timing Solutions for Applications Requiring Stand-Alone Real-Time Clocks

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 27, 2008 – IDT® (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced a family of real-time clock devices designed for use in consumer applications, such as set-top boxes, GPS devices, energy meters and MP3 players. In addition, the devices are well suited for use in the computing, medical and telecom markets.
 
The IDT real-time clocks are perfect for use in any application that requires a stand-alone real-time clock. The devices also build upon the IDT history as a timing leader, providing high accuracy for all applications and follow the IDT product trend for ultra-low power, which make them perfect for mobile applications.

Features and Benefits
The IDT real-time clocks are low-power clock/date devices with two programmable time-of-day alarms and a programmable square-wave output for applications requiring calendaring and time functionality. Address and data are transferred serially through an I2C bus. The devices have built-in power-sense circuits that detect power failures and automatically switch to the backup supply, maintaining time, date and alarm operation. The product family includes devices that offer extra 56 bytes of non-volatile SRAM.
 
The devices provide seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month and year information. The date at the end of the month is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 days, including corrections for leap year. The clock operates in either the 24-hour or 12-hour format with an AM/PM indicator.
 
Pricing and Availability
The IDT family of real-time clock devices is currently shipping in production and offers packaging options that include an 8-pin mini small outline package (MSOP), an 8-pin small-outline integrated circuit (SOIC) or a 16-pin SOIC (surface-mount package with an integrated crystal).
