Wireless Base Station (BTS)

A wireless base station (also known as a cell site or wireless base transceiver station, BTS) is a piece of equipment that facilitates wireless communication between user equipment (UE) and a network. UEs are devices like mobile phones (handsets), WLL phones, computers with wireless internet connectivity, WiFi and WiMAX devices. The network can be that of any of the wireless communication technologies like 4G LTE, GSM, CDMA, Wireless local loop, WAN, WiFi, WiMAX, etc. The BTS itself consists of the tower, transmitter, radio antenna and other equipment that are used to communicate with the mobile devices.
